This quote isn't necessarily from a famous person, but from a movie I love called, "Phoebe in Wonderland". I do however consider it to be smart, striking, profoundly true, and all of those things you listed.
"At a certain point in your life... probably when too much of it has gone by, you will see yourself for who you are, especially for everything that made you so different, from all the awful normals. And you will say to yourself, but i am this person. And in that statement, that correction, there will be a kind of love."

We must develop and maintain the capacity to forgive. He who is devoid of the power to forgive is devoid of the power to love. There is some good in the worst of us and some evil in the best of us. When we discover this, we are less prone to hate our enemies.
-Martin Luther King, Jr.
